“What are you doing here?” That’s a question that I expect to hear quite a bit through this journey. I’m not a graduate of a prestigious journalism school. I didn’t pay my dues, working up the ranks through a local paper. I don’t have a history of covering and reporting on sports. But what I do have is a deep love and passion for sports. That’s why I chose the name “Amateur Hour Sports”. Because I am an amateur. I’m not here to make other people’s jobs look easy. I’ve never been a “I could do that” kinda guy. But I know I can’t be the only person out there who feels like the missed their calling. At this point in my life, I have the time and the resources to put this project together and see where it goes.
With all that being said, you can count on me to be passionate for my teams. You can count on me to tell you how I really feel. And lastly, you can count on my pure honesty. I don’t know everything and I don’t pretend to. I know all that sounds corny, but that’s the way I think. For some people it’s all about clicks and hot takes. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got hot takes. But I don’t plan on making a living on hot takes. At the end of the day, I hope that this site and our podcast (coming soon!) entertain you. I’m not here to be totally serious and win awards. But I am here to have fun covering my teams and talking about sports.
